"HOPE FOR HAITI NOW" distributing remaining $31 million raised through telethon
"Hope for Haiti Now" (HFHN) today announced the allocation of the remaining $31 million—of the $66 million in total—raised through the Emmy‐nominated telethon "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief." The $31 million will be distributed to partner organizations including Oxfam America, Partners In Health, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Yelé Haiti Foundation, and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund that are focused on recovery and reconstruction efforts in Haiti.

U.S. Fund for UNICEF and ABC’S Good Morning America team up to help build a "HAITI FIT FOR CHILDREN"
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF announced today a collaboration with ABC’s Good Morning America to help build a “Haiti fit for children.” As part of GMA’s new series “America’s Healthy Summer,” news anchor Juju Chang has begun 100 days of training for the Housatonic Valley Sprint Triathlon while raising funds towards UNICEF’s relief efforts in Haiti.

UNICEF welcomes Kiwanis partnership to fight deadly maternal and neonatal tetanus worldwide
UNICEF today welcomed the announcement of a new partnership with global volunteer network Kiwanis International to fight tetanus in women and children worldwide, a disease that kills around 60,000 newborns each year.

Kiwanis, UNICEF join forces to save 129 million mothers and newborns
Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to save the lives of babies and their mothers by eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus (MNT), a disease that kills an estimated 60,000 newborns and 30,000 mothers each year. UNICEF Ambassador and actor Tea Leoni delivered the announcement at the 95th Annual Kiwanis International Convention.

At the opening of a major meeting of business leaders organized by the United Nations today, UNICEF, the UN Global Compact and Save the Children called on the business community to work together to build universal principles that will place children’s rights at the top of the global corporate responsibility agenda.
